R.A.F. Memorial, Grassmead Estate

This is a polished granite tablet set into a brick plinth standing some two metres high, on a small area of grassed land at the entrance to the Grassmead Estate. (Grassmead being the name of a large house that once stood on this plot of land).

Sir John Lubbock, Blue Plaque

Bromley's links with the Lubbock family dates back to 1808 when the original estate was bought and the estate was gradually enlarged and building works commenced.

Crystal Palace Park

Crystal Palace Park is an 80 hectare Grade II* listed park. It was originally designed by Sir Joseph Paxton to provide a new home to his Crystal Palace, the structure he designed to house the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park in 1851.

Jubilee Country Park Local Nature Reserve

Thomas Crapper, Blue Plaque

Thomas Crapper was one of several eminent sanitary engineers of his era to develop and market the flush toilet. His major innovation was a method of controlling the water flow from the cistern.

The Blacksmith Arms, Cudham

The Inn known as the “Blacksmith’s Arms” was built during the reign of Charles I (1625 – 1649) in the year 1628. The property at this time is described as a farm dwelling with stables.
